Light Adjustable Lens (LAL)
Patients looking up Light Adjustable Lens in Moreno Valley (The District / Town Circle, inside LensCrafters) and Chino (inside Sam’s Club #6610) can start with a Fenix Lumi eye exam. We are independent doctors of optometry — not Sam’s Club and not LensCrafters. The Light Adjustable Lens is an IOL whose power can be adjusted with office-based UV light treatments after the eye heals, then locked in. It is implanted at surgery, not at our optometry offices. We help you understand whether LAL is worth discussing with a cataract surgeon, including UV-protecting glasses during the adjustment period.
- Designed so residual sphere and cylinder can be refined after surgery
- Requires several postoperative light treatments and compliance with UV glasses until lock-in
- Not every eye or lifestyle is a candidate (occupational UV, certain retinal conditions, follow-up ability)
- Fenix Lumi does not implant or UV-adjust the lens; that is surgical-center care
